With a little help from our friends, Dez Chand at Radio Race Car International magazine and Jon Guest at Snetterton Park MCC, it has been made possible for Rounds 1 and 5 to be held on Sunday 17th June and 2nd Sept., respectively, at Snetterton Park's superb purpose built island style R/C race circuit, see - www.spmcc.org.uk
Previous testing has shown this to be ideal for creating drift courses and it's a lot like the Colchester track that will be used for rounds 2 and 6 but a little bigger. This will mean that the drifts may have to be a little faster and more open, a welcome challenge after the tightness of the indoor, winter meets.
Completed entry forms for this round (5) must be received by D1RC with payment by Wednesday 29th August.
Saturday 1st September
Optional:Circuit may be open to public for free practice £3.50 (check with shop)
D1RC Overnight camping may be available £7.50 (check/book with shop)
Please note that this round is being held on a premier purpose built club track so offers superb track surface conditions and smooth curves that are ideal for competition drifting. The track is also large enough to provide a large seperate practice / set-up area and a full blown Time Attack circuit. A race report with photographs will feature in Radio Race Car International magazine.
You should arrive at Snetterton Park MCC as early as possible to gain the longest practice and report firstly to Drift Control to register and collect items for the day. The Drift circuit opens for registered drivers only to practice at 08:10 following the driver's briefing. Note that we will operate a realistic one car round the track at a time policy, as previously employed during practice before - One standing start 'lap' then return to the queue for the next.
All sunstrips must be fitted to the top of your screen, or directly below any existing strips. Your entry number should be placed below the strip to the right side of the screen (see decal placement photos for reference).
Remember - your car is your car. If someone wants to try drifting, direct them to the D1RC website! There is the very large shop on site but this sells mainly Tamiya parts so please ensure you have a full spares set for your car with you. Power should be available in the pits complex but, if you have a 12v charger, bring it in case!
The track is located just off the A11 dual carriageway, brown signposted as Snetterton Race Track and Market, between Thetford and Norwich. Follow the signs for Market, then R/C Track. Park by the rear of the drivers rostrum or as directed by D1RC members.
